Former Pupil Biographies
Dr Christiana Spens MA, MLitt, PhD ( - current)
Christiana attended Madras College and went to Cambridge University where
she graduated MA (Hons) in Philosophy. Her dissertation was entitled
'The Slave-Master Relationship in Nietzsche and Hegel'. She then came
back to Fife and at St Andrews University she gained a M.Litt in 2013
for her dissertation on 'Images of War and Terror: An analysis of the
Abu Ghraib pictures in the context of official images of the War on
Terror, the history of war photography in the US, lynching photographs
and pornography' |

This was followed by a PhD in International Relations,
with her thesis 'Playing the Villain: The Portrayal of Terrorists in
Western Media'. She received The Dr. Handa PhD Scholarship for Terrorism
and Political Violence (2013 - 2016).
