Jamie Ritchie (1996 - current)

James Thomas Ritchie was born in Dundee in 1996 and started secondary school in Madras College, later going to Strathallan. He played rugby for both Madras FP RFC and Howe of Fife before signing for Edinburgh Rugby as soon as he left school aged 17.

He has represented Scotland at u-16, u-18 and u-20 levels.  He was called up to the senior team in 2017 and received his first cap on 9 June 2018 in the match against Canada.

A fractured cheekbone prevented his appearance in the 2019 World Cup Scotland team.  He returned to the team in 2020 and was named 'Man of the Match' in the game against France in the Guinness 6 Nations before the coronavirus outbreak stopped all rugby. In Autumn 2022 he captained the Scotland team against Fiji at Murrayfield.

Apart from his success in rugby, Jamie was a silver medallist at the British Juso Championships in 2009 and the British Independent Schools judo champion in 2010
